Frequently asked questions about our London black cab tours
Every London Sightseeing Taxi Tour is private, flexible and led by a knowledgeable London taxi driver-guide. Browse the answers below for the practical details most guests want before booking.
Still deciding? Our team can help match the tour length and route to your interests, mobility needs and travel plans.
How does a private London sightseeing taxi tour work?
Your licensed London taxi driver is also your personal guide. You travel in your own iconic black cab, hear the stories behind the city and stop at selected landmarks for photographs and closer views. The route can be adapted around your interests and the traffic on the day.
How many people can travel in one black cab?
Our vehicles are licensed for up to six passengers. If you are organising a larger family, school, corporate or social group, contact us and we can arrange multiple taxis.
Is the price per person or per taxi?
Prices shown for our private tours cover the group in one taxi, for up to six guests, rather than being charged per person. Check the individual tour page for its current duration, price and inclusions.
Where will you pick us up and drop us off?
We offer pickup and drop-off at central London hotels, railway stations, places of interest and other agreed central locations. Selected tours also include Heathrow pickup or drop-off, and we offer dedicated airport and seaport transfer services.
Can we customise our itinerary?
Yes. Your tour can focus on royal London, history, film locations, photography, music, markets, hidden streets or a mix of highlights. Tell us your must-see places when booking so your driver-guide can shape the route around you.
How long are the tours?
Options range from two-hour Westminster and night tours to half-day, full-day and longer trips outside London. Each tour page shows the scheduled duration, and our team can recommend the best fit for your available time.
Which London landmarks can we see?
Depending on your tour and pickup point, highlights may include Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, the Houses of Parliament, Trafalgar Square, St Paul’s Cathedral, the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. Routes may change when traffic, closures or events affect access.
Are your black cabs wheelchair accessible?
Yes, all our vehicles are wheelchair accessible. Please tell us about wheelchairs, mobility aids or other specialist equipment when booking so we can prepare the most comfortable route and vehicle for you.
Are the tours suitable for children and older guests?
Yes. Tours are private, family friendly and easy to pace around your group. Our driver-guides are DBS checked and experienced in accompanying children, older guests, disabled passengers and vulnerable adults.
Will we be able to get out for photographs?
Yes. Where stopping and access allow, your driver-guide will include photo opportunities and short walks. If photography or limited walking is a priority, mention it in advance so the itinerary can be planned accordingly.
What happens if it rains or traffic is heavy?
A black cab keeps you comfortable between stops, and your guide can adjust the order or choice of sights to make the best use of your time. Tour destinations may vary when traffic, road closures or major London events affect the route.
Are attraction entrance tickets included?
Inclusions vary by tour. Your private cab and driver-guide are included; only assume attraction admission is included when it is specifically listed on the tour page or booking confirmation. Ask us before booking if you want to add an inside visit.
What is your cancellation policy?
Our current terms state that cancellations must be sent to info@londonsightseeingtaxitours.com. A full refund, less a nominal administration fee, is available with at least 24 hours’ notice; a 70% refund applies with less than 24 hours’ notice, and no refund is available with less than five hours’ notice. Please read the full booking terms before purchase.
Do you offer airport layover tours and transfers?
Yes. We offer London layover tours, sightseeing tours that finish at Heathrow and separate airport or seaport transfers. Share your flight details and available connection time so our team can advise what is practical.
How far in advance should I book?
Booking early is recommended for weekends, school holidays and popular summer dates. If your trip is soon, contact us anyway—availability can change and we may still be able to arrange a driver-guide.
Ready to see London your way?
Tell us what you love, where you are staying and how much time you have. We will help plan the right private black cab experience.
